Legislative Events and Involvement
Getting involved
Contact your legislators
Make a difference for your profession by contacting your legislators. Through direct contact with them you can initiate change and influence their decisions as they relate to you and the accounting profession.
Legislative Issues Committee
The Legislative Issues Committee assists in creating the MNCPA legislative agenda and helps staff take a unified message to the Capitol. Input from members is valued and we are always looking for additional members to join the committee.
Political Action Committee (PAC)
The PAC allows us to support legislators who are friends of the profession and leaders of their party. CPAs who join together by contributing to the PAC can accomplish more than any individual making a single contribution to any one candidate.
Annual events
CPA Day at the Capitol
Each year members from across Minnesota gather at the State Capitol to meet with their legislators and educate them on issues impacting the CPA profession. CPA Day at the Capitol, usually held in February, attracts members from all areas of the profession.
Congressional Events
Usually held in August, these special events allow members to meet face-to-face with and get a firsthand account from their federal lawmakers. They are are open to any MNCPA member who lives in the specified lawmaker's district.
